The accused chased the man and stabbed him about 22 times in full public view. He also slit his throat using the knife. The passersby did not even try to save him from the attacker. The police claimed to have arrested the accused within an hour of the incident. DCP (Zone-2) Abhinay Vishwakarma said the incident took place near Damru Ustad Square around 12.30 pm. Mumbai attacks mastermind Hafiz Saeed's brother-in-law and banned Jamaat-ud-Dawa deputy chief Hafiz Abdul Rahman Makki died of a heart attack here on Friday. According to the Jamaatud-Dawa (JuD), Abdul Rahman Makki had been ill for the past few days and was undergoing treatment following high diabetes at a private hospital in Lahore. "Makki suffered a cardiac arrest early this morning and he breathed his last in the hospital," a JuD official said. Makki, the brother-in-law of JuD chief Hafiz Saeed, was handed down six months-imprisonment in a terror financing case in 2020 by an anti-terrorism court. Makki, deputy chief of JuD, had been keeping a low profile after being sentenced in a terror financing. Vinod was stabbed 18 times after he fell Vinod Rathore, 35, a resident of Pardesipura, was stabbed by Pramod Yadav, a resident of Bhagirathpura of the city. Pramod informed the police that Vinod was at a paan shop in an inebriated state when Vinod used some abusive words for him, which led to an argument. The situation turned intense and Vinod attacked Pramod, who received injury on his fingers. Earlier on December 19, the special police establishment (SPE) Lokayukta police Bhopal had conducted the raid at the two premises of Sharma. Later in the evening, a car carrying 52 kg gold and Rs 11 crore in cash was also seized by the Income Tax department from a car in Mandori area of the city. The ED initiated the case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) against Sharma and his associate, Chetan Singh Gaur and Sharad Jaiswal following a First Information Report (FIR) registered by the SPE in Bhopal.
