Two of the three accused have been arrested. According to the Chimanganj Mandi police, a youth named Sahil befriended her and he told about the girl to his associates—Shahid who lives in Ahmed Nagar, and Sameer, who lives in Maksi. Sahil made a plan and called Sameer and Shahid, who had a car. As per the plan, Sahil met the girl on November 28. He told her that they were going to Dewas for sightseeing. Around 11 am, all four of them got into the car and left for Dewas. “They kept roaming in the car throughout the night and the trio raped her in turns in the car,” the girl told the police. The accident took place near Dharpatha village on Jabalpur Road at around 9 am. Indian Medical Association president Dr RV Asokan condemned the National Task Force (NTF), constituted by the Supreme Court to give recommendations on the safety of doctors, a n d termed it an ‘eye w a s h e r ’, which fails in addressing the safety and security issues faced by the doctors at grass root level. “NTF is just a group of ‘elitists’ whose recommendations are majorly focused on the security of large hospitals but nothing about the security of doctors in small hospitals located in the towns and villages,” he said. It will help in giving an assurance to the doctors at any level and anywhere across any external threats.
