A bench of Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna and Justice Sanjay Kumar had on November 22 reserved its verdict on the pleas filed by former Rajya Sabha MP Subramanian Swamy and advocate Ashwini Updhayay challenging the inclusion of the words "socialist" and "secular" in the Preamble to the Constitution. One of the first petitions was filed by one Balram Singh through advocate Vishnu Shankar Jain in 2020. "The writ petitions do not need further deliberation and adjudication. The amending power of Parliament over the Constitution extends to Preamble," the CJI said while pronouncing the verdict. The CJI said the verdict explained that after so many years the process cannot be so nullified. Yesterday, we wrote a letter to Adani on behalf of the government, stating that the state government is not ready to accept the Rs 100 crores given by the Adani Group. Apart from this, one more cub named Mukhi is from the first litter of Jwala. It was 20 months ago that Jwala gave birth to four cubs for the first time and of them, three had died due to health-related complications. Mukhi was too weak to walk and it was shifted to veterinary hospital for treatment. When Mukhi regained health, efforts were made to reunite it with Jwala but the latter refused to accept it. Since then, Mukhi is being raised under the care of forest officials. With this, currently there are total of 12 cheetah cubs in Kuno National Park. The number will increase further when the total number of cubs of Nirwah will be ascertained.
