Aristotle once said, “The aim of art is to represent not the outward appearance of things, but their inward
signifi cance.” It’s safe to say that art is an expression of one’s self; it encompasses many forms—from an oil
painting to a glass one, an abstract painting to a
romantic landscape, still photography to moving images, or a sculpture to an artefact. Many people
the world over are intrigued by art, while some indulge in creating works of art, the others follow it closely. Hyderabad is home to many renowned artists, sculptors, curators and collectors. This week we feature some of those who’ve not only made a niche for themselves in the fi eld but have also educated the public about how to appreciate art in all forms.
