Dear Readers,
If there’s one festival that is universally celebrated with a bang in India, it has to be Diwali – the festival of lights! It is a time when friends and family come together to party and share the festive spirit. The atmosphere is warm, people are making merry, and everything is lit up, all to signify the victory of light over darkness. Diwali is only a few days away, and although people are going to celebrate it amid a pandemic, the revelry is already in full swing, so this month we took the opportunity to get up close and personal with some wellknown families from the country who share their plans with us. Check out Feature Story
to know more.

Much has been written about Gauri Khan’s impressive resume: She’s a celebrated humanitarian, well-known producer, renowned interior designer, mother of three kids, fashion icon—and she happens to be married to a man named Shah Rukh Khan. She is dazzling on the cover, and in the cover story, she shares her love for designing; coffeetable-book; and her collaboration with luxury brand, Zoya.

Celebrated for millenniums, Diwali is that time of the year when we can all choose to turn a new leaf and begin a new year without hatred and prejudice, a fact that resonates even more when examining centuries-old Mughal Miniatures that portrayed the festival being a part of their court and life. In Special Feature, we take a look at this unique phenomenon.

Moving on in People in Focus, we have a highly talented individual, Sangeeta Sobti, the President of Janak Services. You can also check In the Spotlight to know more about Mrinalini Kumari, a couture creator and a hugely successful fashion entrepreneur.

In Sensational Spaces, we take a grand tour of Taj Lake Palace, Lake Pichola,
Rajasthan that once belonged to Maharana Jagat Singh (circa 1746.) After the festive season, many people spend a lot of time trying to lose the holiday weight they had put on. We lay down a few tips in Mind & Body to avoid the festival food hangover.

Next up is Grand Getaways wherein we help you in exploring India’s rich Heritage Sites before getting to work untangling the paperwork involved in international vacations. You already know the most popular ones – the Taj Mahal, Red Fort, and so on – so we’ll share six of the slightly less famous options.

And tell us what you think. If you have any suggestions, comments or queries, please e-mail me at publisher@you-and-i.com.
