There are a lot of reasons to feel empowered about being a woman, but it’d be crazy to think that we’ve shattered that glass ceiling in the fashion sector. Case in point: Even though it’s an industry where women are the main consumers, the main players, and the main focus, fashion still isn’t an equal-opportunity game, when it comes to the top jobs. All that being said, though less than 50% of brands are led by female designers — a fact that shouldn’t take anyone by surprise, it’s still our favorite. These women have proven to the business industry that they have what it takes to win as a driving force in their respective fields. As the world marks International Women’s Day on March 8 – we commemorate the occasion by featuring eight hardworking women in our Feature Story who rose to fame due to their great achievements.
The Women’s Day theme continues in our People in Focus, where we interview young and dynamic Vanshika Goenka Misra and Sakshi Salve. While Vanshika is the founder of Kool Kanya, a community of women that builds each other through career advice and navigating life challenges, Sakshi has dabbled in fashion and finance, trained at Le Cordon Bleu, is a published author, before her true calling of being a Life Coach.
