The long, scorching hot, and humid Mumbai summer began a few weeks ago and is expected to last until the end of June. During this three-month period, the pace of activity in the country slows down. Schools begin their summer vacations and people take off to cooler destinations. I, for one, will surely go away for a few days. If you have been watching Hindi TV serials lately, you would have seen the gorgeous and equally talented Sara Mansukhani Khan in the popular series Dilli Wali Thakur Gurls, Zindagi Wins and on Epic TV in Kahi Suni. Between shoots we learned more of her exciting reel life as well as her amazing real life. From Brooklyn, New York, we talked to the intelligent and beautiful Relina Bulchandani-Shaw about her career as the Global Lead for Cisco Systems. A versatile singer, also from New York, Manish Israni impressed us with his voice and showmanship. Yet another story that will excite you, is that of distinguished New Yorker, Neela Vaswani, a warm blend of Irish and Sindhi, who recently won a Grammy for narrating the young reader's edition of “I Am Malala: How One Girl Stood Up For Education and Changed the World (Malala Yousafzai)”. Chef, photographer and ayurvedic therapist, Lakshmi Harilela checked in with us from Hong Kong. Also from that part of the world, we interviewed entrepreneurs Deepa Nainani and Neerja Sujanani. The successful young film maker and writer Devashish Makhija’s life’s journey touched our core and we thought we should share his story with our readers. Social activist for men against violence and abuse, Harish Sadani told us how he has been trying to open the gates of communication between men and women for years. Multi-talented Hong Kong bred Aanchal Wadhwani displayed how she juggled her roles as photographer, model, fashion designer and entrepreneur. Closer to home, Country Manager for Jaeger-LeCoultre, Dinesh Aswani told us how he battles everyday challenges. We found and spoke with author Shakun Kimatrai. She came across as a compassionate and spiritual human being. Priya Chhabria gave us a peek into her world of fashion. Footprints of Dhiraj Bathija led us to discovering Heel & Buckle, a place where you can get high-end, quality footwear. Finding pride and profit in what they do, were fashion jewelry creator Astha Jagwani; healthy baker extraordinaire Divya Ranglani, and a newage trendsetter who plans and markets events - Pia Shivdasani. Sheetal Pritmani showed us how the colour white can have a whole palette. Ambitious director Shaunit Motwani shared his story with us, and dynamic make-up artist and beauty product entrepreneur Natasha Sajnani told us about the world of looking good. This summer, let me leave you with this. Stay cool, keep yourself well hydrated - drink a lot of juices, eat light, and you won’t feel the heat beating down on you as much.
