Highlights of India Today 14th November 2016, issue:

In the cover story, India's Best States, India Today looks at the 14th edition of its State of the States report, and finds that it's mostly status quo, barring for a shocker in the infrastructure category.

The big story this week, What Really Happened?, looks at the dubious encounter of the eight SIMI undertrials who had escaped from the Bhopal jail. The story is a detailed account which answers the basic questions of what, when and how, and asks the big question as to whether the killing was justified.

'Bribes from Brazil' is a special report on how the defence ministry has found itself in a soup with Brazilian jet maker Embraer admitting that it had given bribes to get major contracts worldwide, including paying off an Indian middleman in the $200 million deal.

The story 'Chairman Xi' looks at how Xi Jinping has changed the country's political landscape with his fearless and unrelenting attitude, making China, a nation that is no longer afraid to ride the tough tides.

The arts story, 'Memory as metaphor', is a peek into one of India's most celebrated artists Arpana Caur's inspiration, narratives and the volumes her canvases speak.

The issue also comes with three free magazines: Spice, Simply Bangalore and Simply Punjabi.
