Highlights of India Today Tamil issue dated November 19th, 2014. 1. The cover story analyses the major changes undergone by the Tamilnadu Concress Committee with two of its improtant leaders quitting the party. While the B.S.Gnanadesikan resinged the Presidentship post. A few days later Mr.G.K.Vasan another importnat leader in the Tamilnadu announced his resignation and his decision to float a new party. Mr.Vasan's father and veteran Congress leader G.K.Moopanar.who splitted and started Tamil Manila Congress in 1996 which was later merged with Congress in 2002 after his demise. The rebel leaders say that the Natinal leadership does not seek the advice of local leaders in crucial decisions relating to the state politics and ignores the local sentiments, making the party an unctouchable in the state with over 7 crore population. However it is yet to be seen whether Mr.Vasan can use the Tamil Manila Congress identity since the party is still existing in neighborhood Pondicherry and reap benefits of forming a new party in an entirely different politcal scenario. The story also carries interviews of Mr.Vasan, Mr.E.V.K.S..Elangavon the new president of TNCC and Mr.Karthi Chidambaram the son of former Finance Minister P.Chidambaram. 2. Ciricketing icon Sachin Tendulkar who retired from all forms of the sport last year has panned his autobiography and titled it as 'Playing it My Way. Launched las week in Mumbai, the book speaks volumes about Sachin's emergence as a world renowned Cricketer .
