Their PM ambition was derailed by the clear mandate of Modi. Congress was swept away in divided Andrapradesh and TRS and TDP won Telangana and the rest of Andhra respectively. K Chandrasekhara Rao and Chandrababu Naidu will going to be CM's of both part. Another state which was not affected by the Modi typhoon was Orissa and in the state Navin Patnaik's BJD got 20 LS seats out of 21. Assembly elections were also held with LS election in Orissa. BJD got majority and Navin is going to be the CM of Orissa in fourth consecutive term. The left parties in India were eclipsed due to lack of vision and mission. In the south BJP failed again to win a seat in kerala. In Kerala congress led Udf and CPM led Ldf won 12 and 8 seats respectively. But BJP has reached near victory in trivandrum but finished in second position. CPM PB member M A Baby's failure in Kollam will continue a hot issue in Ldf.
