The April 2018 issue of Apparel welcomes the summer. With a theme titled ‘Springing into Summer’, the issue is full of hot trends and unique insights into various new movements in the apparel industry.

 

Under the ‘Reports’ segment, we offer a recap of the seminar on ‘Delegation’ organised by The Western Regional Committee of the CMAI. We also report on the International Textile Conference organised by The Textile Association (India). Our ‘Features’ for April include a write-up on the market for adaptive clothing meant for the disabled and the elderly, as well as a report on the Size India campaign, launched by the National Sizing Survey of India, to develop a size chart for the average Indian. We examine the potential of hemp as an environmentally sustainable fibre in ‘Fibre Speak’. In the ‘Budget Buzz’ section, we analyse the impact of The Union Budget 2018 on the Indian apparel manufacturers, in the exports segment. In order to welcome the summer, our ‘Trend Talk’ section features a glimpse of all the cool fashion trends in vogue this hot season. We also explore the exciting Bohemian Fashion trend, as well as offer an insight into the traditional practice of lace makers in South-Western Sri Lanka. In the ‘Fashion Speak’ segment, we report on the latest in fashion from the Amazon India Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2018.

Apparel, the monthly official trade magazine of the Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI)—one of the largest apparel and garments bodies in the country—gives you the latest news and events specific to this industry, while delving deeper into issues plaguing it, new technologies adopted and the people who make things happen.
