FFF against malnutrition
India’s apex body related to foods, Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has come up with Food Safety and Standards (Fortification of Foods) Regulations 2018 on August 2, 2018 which has been notified in the Gazette of India. This regulations prescribe the standards of addition of micronutrients for the purpose of food fortification; the manufacturers of the fortified food are required to provide quality assurance undertaking and finally the packaging and labelling must state the food fortificant added along with logo. This regulations will help the government of India’s efforts on Food Fortification Fight (FFF) against malnutrition in a better way.
