In the September 2017 edition of Power Today, our Cover Story on GST, titled ‘The Powernomics of GST’, analysed that with GST finally here and despite presently passing through initial pangs, it is expected to promote ‘ease of doing business’ in a big way, in due course. Our renew cover story on wind, titled ‘Silver Linings’, looked at how the sector which was once India’s undisputed workhorse in the renewable sector, may have been out-paced but not beaten, with tenders for the sector being seen as a revival tool.
Our feature on wires & cables - ‘Wiring the Future’, observed how the segment has come into its own in India, and with plans for huge infrastructure projects in place and an expected positive outlook on GST, the future looks bright. While the second feature on transformers - ‘Healthy Growth’, found that the transformer market is bullish about the future, by riding on optimism driven by improvement seen in transmission and distribution segments.
