About this issue

For this monsoon quarter, among the people that have rained in, we have Vishal Malhotra, well known actor cum businessman; Lakshman Bhagtani of ‘Jaycee Homes Ltd’, whose family is known to be in the business of construction since many decades; and Corporate Chef at the recently opened F.Lounge.Diner.Bar in Mumbai, Rakesh Talwar who makes some delectable finger-licking food. Eminent divorce lawyer, Maya Idnani brought us up to date with the new laws that the Indian High Court ruling has changed, to benefit the Indian woman. The story of Rita Gangwani’s life, from that of a retired Lieutenant, to one of teaching etiquette and personality enhancement, will intrigue you, as it did us. Deepak Keswani, founder of webbased RadioSindhi.com explained how Sindhis around the world were raring to listen in to Sindhi fare, while Pri Shewakramani & Harshad Daswani of ‘The Beach Company’, a web-based enterprise, selling beach fashion, told us why they thought they were doing the right thing at the right time. Heading ‘Wise Men Consultants’, an Information Technology and Supply Chain Consulting and Services firm in Houston, Texas, Juuhi Ahuja talked of her life and the phenomenal expansion of her business. These three extremely talented young kids completed bowled us over! We were overwhelmed with the verve of Mumbai based Rajani siblings - Raoul (15), a national swimmer, and his younger sister Simram (13), a national diving champ. Twelve-year-old chess prodigy Janak Awatramani, a five-time Canadian National Champion (by grade) surprised us with his prowess in this intellectual game.
