About this issue

IPF Oct 2019 had 3 Focus Sections – "Gears & Bearings, Motors & Drives", "Pollution Control Equipment", and "Corrosion Protection (Surface Treatment)". The Indian bearing market is estimated at Rs 95 billion accounting for less than 5 per cent of global bearing demand. Manufacturers in India cater to about 60 per cent of domestic bearing needs with the remaining met through imports. Subdued sales growth in automotive industry - which accounts for 48 per cent of bearings demand in India - is taking a toll on suppliers including bearing makers. However, industrial segment is offering some solace to the bearing industry. IPF Oct 2019 elaborates on steps taken by manufacturers to tide over this tough time by focusing on more technology intensive product to meet the growing requirements of durable, smart and cost-efficient bearings. Neeraj Bisaria (CEO and MD, Premium Transmission Pvt Ltd) spoken on impact of modernization & automation on industrial gearbox market, while Palanisamy P L (Director Sales Marketing and Services, Danfoss Drives) analysed drives market in India. Almost 63 per cent of municipal wastewater and 40 per cent of industrial wastewater is left untreated and discharged in India, which is also one of the largest and fastest growing greenhouse gas emitters. Against this background, “Focus 2” discusses challenges and opportunities for pollution control equipment (PCE) manufacturers. In PLUS section, Megan Ray Nichols (an international STEM writer & blogger) highlights how automation is disrupting the construction machinery industry. Similarly, Patrick de Vos (of Senior Manager, Seco Tools) explains the importance of reliable machining processes for ensuring customer satisfaction.

About Industrial Products Finder

Industrial Products Finder (IPF), a pioneer industrial journal in India, was launched in 1972. It gives industrial manufacturers and exclusive dealers/importers of industrial products a forum to display their ware, in a medium that was to be made regularly available to the users of these products. IPF focuses on all industrial/engineering products and services, consultancies, repair and reconditioning services, industrial security and safety services, and of late, pollution control and environment protection services. Apart from products, there are also other regular features that complement the core activity – a capsule of important events and developments in the industrial sector, news on companies, projects, joint ventures and mergers, etc; a selection of articles written by experts in the field as well as academics; and information on all important trade fairs, conferences, seminars and training programmers.
