Quality of life (QOL) is considered as the individual’s perception of their position in life in the context of the culture and value systems in which they live and in relation to their goals, expectations, standards and concerns. It incorporates positive (e.g., feeling happy, energetic) as well as negative aspects (e.g., sadness and fatigue). In present time, it becomes all the more important to understand this concept. The support is helpful in reducing stress, protecting health and lead to better quality of life. In changing social scenario, it would be of great interest to study the gender based relationship between social support and quality of life. For this purpose a sample of 100 doctors in public sector (50 male and 50 female) was randomly selected. Their scores on WHO-QL and social support were statistically analysed by using Pearson coefficient of correlation and t-test. Results revealed significant positive correlation between perceived social support and quality of life. A significant gender difference was also found on social support and overall quality of life and its various domains (e.g., Physical, Social, Psychological and Environmental).
