All business organisations are organic social institutions engaged in not only economic activities but serving the larger interest of the society, that is, mitigating human needs and aspirations. It signifies the responsibility of an organisation towards its environment largely through its philosophy and human channels. Corporate Social Responsibility being a practice oriented field, therefore, employees are a critical means of translating organisational social performance policies into reality. This involves the value system and commitment of employees themselves. Employees with high internalisation of organisational values and high commitment can only realise the CSR policies and practices of the organisation. This commitment of employee emanates from effective human resource practices and trust in management which is the subject of discussion of this paper entitled “Software of Effective CSR Practice”.
