Gender equality is an issue which cannot be neglected today. Ignoring women is equal to ignoring approximately fifty percent of the equally intelligent minds. It means discrimination. This discrimination is the cause of exploitation. Therefore, gender equality means end of such discriminations and exploitations. This paper attempts to analyze what has been done for women in Ghana. It deals with the policies and programmes adopted or implemented for gender equality and women in Ghana. It also attempts to see how far women are benefitted.
