Companies as well as banking and other financial institutions all over the world are finding e-commerce as the new platform for the business in the years to come. The revolution in information technology has brought many changes in the business practices and its performance. E-commerce is the latest concept which helps to develop their competitive edge. Internet is having profound impact on the functioning of the world. The application of e-commerce in the development of economy has resulted in paradigm shift in the business practices worldwide. This paper is an effort to find our how online banking is performing viz-a-viz traditional banking and which strategies may be adopted to have effective online banking.
