‘Ramayana’ has been written in a period when the Arya Samaj was transitioning from cattle-rearing to agriculture. Since we cannot completely overlook the influence and popularity of the Ramayana in that period, the fate of Sita has been depicted in the same light in this book. In this attempt, the character of “Avatar Rama” has perhaps being tainted slightly, but the glory of the character has not been denied in any way. The book is thus named “Ram-Chandrayana” after him.
