Pigmentary disorders of skin, though seemingly benign and not life threatening, have a profound impact on the quality of life of patients. Besides cosmetic concern, these diseases cause a great deal of social stigma and tremendous psychological stress leading to anxiety, depression, fear of rejection, low self esteem and even suicidal tendencies.
