‘Lust: the untold story’ doesn't fall under the category of traditional Hindi novels. It can be called Professor Raju’s autobiography in one way and researcher Yashpal’s dissertation in another. The title ‘Human’s family relations, sex and culture’ brought Yashpal to Professor Raju. This novel comes close to Sigmund Freud’s theory that most of the mental activities of a human are creations of his subconscious mind. Sex plays a crucial part at its core, for which, Freud has used the word Libido, which means sexual desire. The central character of this novel Professor Raju is a Nobel Prize winner. Yashpal is his friend's son. If the efforts to explain this is done on the basis of Indian mythological beliefs, then this work is an erotic creation. Freud also considers sexual desires to be the main source of human actions. In the pre-novel time of ‘Lust, an untold story’, Ilachandra Joshi was established as the originator of the Hindi psychological novels. When the discussion of Marx, Darwin and Freud was there between the elite scholars as well as the middle-class degree holders, this novel seems like the creation of the same thought. Jiwan ji is famous as a poet but with this work he tries to knock at the world of novels too. But the way he stands apart in the crowd of poets, in the same way with ‘Lust, an untold story’, in the field of novels, he isn't seen standing beside Ilachandra Joshi, Bhagwati Prasad Vajpayee or Agyaya. The way Nirala has given direction to romanticism through wishing for the ebb and flow, probably Jiwan Shukla is the pioneer of the same consciousness of novelty. But to read the works of such people or to comment on it, one has to come out of the established contemplation camps. Before forming an opinion on ‘Lust, an untold story’, it is imperative to glance upon this statement from the act whose title is ‘Autobiography of stories’: ‘I have met the characters of ‘Lust : an untold story’ in some way or the other. Their sentimental circumstances have shaken me, their weaknesses have given me a new perspective towards life. The life that I have seen or seen others living, that will be found in my works here and there, organised, systematic or scattered. This life, habitual of drinking bitter truth sips, is surrounded by the ruins of collapsing beliefs on one side and on the other side, looks forward to getting drenched in the meager showers of the moonlight of Shri Chandi civilization. But the legs carrying the struggling breaths are trapped in the swamp that we have got in the absence of God's infinite compassion, due to the actions of previous births and for our disabilities. So society, government and the contractors selling opium of consolation are not at fault in this. I have taken birth in the courtyard of the hard working culture of a fortunate country, where what is found sometimes remains lost and the loss is suffered, carried, lived the entire life and probably for ages.’ This tells that whether the experience is truthful or that which is seen, writer's euphemism is based on reality. That is what was seen being experienced by others or experienced by self, that reality isn't the reality woven by the fibers of imagination.
