Unfortunately, her dreams are shattered when an overhearing and possessive hither rebuts her idea as absurd and instead asks her to get married in keeping with the Indian conservative society. A confused and unhappy Kiran, who can't dare to defy her father, goes on a binge of groom hunting. Not someone to give up so soon on Kiran, Brett follows her assiduously in a bid to bring her round to his thinking. In the process, Shekhar, a navy guy, helps her sneak to London to meet Brett. What follows after that is bloodshed at home, in the name of national demarcation and social abridgement. Surprisingly, like a bolt from the blue, their first effort together results in an Oscar and this changes her father's attitude towards them as they prove that true talent like true love knows no boundary and is beyond any constraint. Seema Seth did her schooling in Orissa and then moved to Mumbai for her higher studies.
