Hello Readers,   Do you know what day is it today Today is Basant Panchami, as we know and celebrate in North India, or Sri Panchami, as we know and celebrate in South India. It is an auspicious Hindu festival which marks the arrival of spring in the country. You can see the arrival of spring all around you, can’t you Beautiful flowers blooming even in the littlest of plants, new leaves sprouting all over, and a little bit of warmth in the air. People believe that Basant Panchami is a great day to start new beginnings, like starting a new venture, learning a new skill, studies etc. You can start your exam studies from today if you haven’t started yet. We also worship Maa Sarasvati today. You know her, the Goddess of enlightenment, knowledge, arts, music, and wisdom! People believe that without her blessings, the world would be a dark place shrouded in ignorance. As yellow is her favourite colour, people celebrate Basant Panchami by wearing yellow clothes, eat yellow khichdi, dal, or sweets, or wear yellow marigold garland. Yellow is also an indicator of prosperity. Basant Panchami is also a harvest festival. Farmers celebrate this springtime harvest when yellow mustard flowers come in full bloom. The mustard flowers signify that the crop is ready to be harvested. Some celebrate by flying kites. I am going to wear my new yellow kurta today and fly a yellow kite with my daughter. How are you going to celebrate Basant Panchami   Enjoy the edition!   Priyanka
