Dear Readers   Aadaab!   Today is Eid e Milad, also known as Milad un nabi and Mawlid. It marks the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad, the founder of Islam. It is an important day for the Muslim population all over the world. Lights, decorations, eating sweets and other yummy-yummy foods, and sending good wishes to our near and dear ones are some of the ways by which Eid e Milad is celebrated.   The history of Mawlid goes back to the early days of Islam somewhere around 622 CE when people would come together to read poetry and sing verses to honour Prophet Mohammad. Following is one of such poetic pieces written in his honour.   So, I was scarcely able to look at him at all. The lights from his light are drowned in his light, and his face shines out like the Sun and Moon in one.   Enjoy the edition Priyanka
