Hello Readers,   Today is Kokborok Day. It is a festival celebrated in Tripura to celebrate the development of Kokborok language. It is an ancient language of North East India. It has been spoken for thousands of years by the Tripuri clan. All the people who speak Kokborok are known as Tripuris. Tripuris are the largest tribal community in Tripura. Kokborok was made the official language of Tripura on Jan 19th, 1979. Its script is called Koloma. The revival of the script is in process.   The Tripuris celebrate Kokborok day by organizing a cultural and literary festival. Even if we cannot go to Tripura to observe the day, let’s devise a way to celebrate it on our own by learning more about the language.
