Diabetic Foods- A Huge Opportunity Type 2 diabetes T2D accounts for between 90 and 95 per cent of diabetes every year, claiming approximately 4 million deaths in 2018 in India. This number has increased considerably over the years. In response to the growing concerns about the escalating health threat posed by diabetes, World Diabetes Day WDD was created in 1991 by the International Diabetes Federation IDF and the World Health Organization WHO, on November 14.  Considering the market potential the food industry is gradually setting in the tailwinds for diabetes treatment by diversifying product portfolios catering to the requirements of a wide consumer base suffering from diabetes. However, an equal push is required from the government by imposing strict regulations in the form of sugar or calorie tax to reduce the number of people who develop type 2 diabetes.
