With India’s lockdown extended, it’s time to take a step back and acknowledge the fact that we are all connected and in this together. Therefore, in these tough times, many app developers have come forward to offer their existing services for free or some added new features to their existing apps in order to help people who can be benefited from their new developments and free offerings. For instance, Delhi Government had collaborated with CallDoc app makers so that people residing in Delhi can connect with doctors online for their non-emergency medical needs. More than 100 doctors from Delhi are providing free online consultations as a part of this collaboration.
Speaking of another initiative, GOFRUGAL, India’s fastest growing cloud and mobile ERP company, has taken a call to waive the cost of their online ordering and delivery management applications, i.e. OrderEasy and GoDeliver for up to 6 months till September 30. Through this announcement, GOFRUGAL aims to help small retailers, especially kirana aka grocery stores to come online and facilitate home deliveries rather than dealing with the rush at their stores when practicing social distancing is must.
These are just two examples, check out our Cover Story to know more about the initiatives taken by the app developers to benefit people both during and post lockdown.
And yes, don’t forget to check out our “App Guide” section; it features complete details about the Aarogya Setu app, like how it works, why one should download this app, what is contact tracing, and more. In one line, this app has been designed by the National Informatics Centre NIC to trace and alert people in India if they, even unknowingly, ever come in close contact with any COVID-19 positive.
