Hey guys,
By the time you read this, we might be at Comic Con in New Delhi.
All of us love the Comic Cons that are gradually spreading their way
across the country. I hope you catch one close to you!
Tinkle Digest has been nominated in five categories at this year’s Comic
Con Awards. So I hope you have your fingers crossed for us. We are
reprinting ‘Toomai of the Elephants’, based on Rudyard Kipling’s story
from The Jungle Book, which was first published in Tinkle Holiday
Special 37. This issue won the Best Childrens Publication at the
awards last year, and this is a superstitious act, in the hope that the
story shines some of its lucky charm on us.
Welcome, dear reader, to Tinkle Digest’s first theme based issue. As you
will find, this edition is chock-a-block full of animals of all shapes and
sizes. We welcome back Deepak Dalal, who tells us about the plight of
tigers through his book, Ranthambore Adventure. Also, a huge hello to
Rohan Chakravarty, winner of the UNDP Asia-Pacific Cartoon Contest
for Climate Change and Human Development. He will be sharing some
striking jokes and stories about animals and their behaviour, and believe
me, I am very excited about them. Ravi Sinha brings you a story of
power and greed amongst wolves, and Alicia Souza gives you all the
low-down about dogs. Besides this, Shambu is going for an adventure to
my home city, Kolkata, and he’s very excited about that as am I!
This issue marks the 12th issue of Tinkle Digest publishing original
material. I am truly thankful for all the wonderful emails you have
written me over the last year. From praise to deep criticism, all your
feedback truly keep us going, and heres hoping for loads of laughter, joy
and enjoyment for the next year and years to come.
Digestively yours,
N.
